Book your OBX 4x4
Pick your dates, pick your vehicle, and we will have it waiting in the Norfolk International Airport parking garage. Send us the request below and we will confirm availability and hold your vehicle. If the week you want is already booked, call or text (252) 573-5337 and we will tell you what is still open.
You are getting off the beaten path
The pavement ends at Corolla. After that there is no road — only the beach, the tide, and whatever daylight you have left. You drive north over the sand with the ocean on one side and the dunes on the other, past wild horses that have had this shoreline longer than anyone else, to a stretch of coast most people only ever see in photographs.
It does ask something of you. Air down to 18–20 PSI before you leave the pavement; the gauge and air compressor are in the vehicle. Check the tide chart going out and again coming back, because a beach that is wide open at nine in the morning can be a narrow strip of soft sand by mid-afternoon. Sand catches people who get casual with it. If it catches you, North Beach Recovery runs 24 hours out of Corolla — (252) 453-0573 — and recovery is at your own expense.
That is the trade, and it is the entire reason to come.
Request your dates
Tell us when you land and which vehicle you want. A person on the Outer Banks reads every request and replies to confirm availability — usually the same day. Every vehicle is the same flat $1,600 for up to seven days, four-day minimum.
Before you book
- Every driver must be 25 or older
- A valid driver’s licence for each driver
- Qualifying personal auto coverage — liability, collision and comprehensive
- A credit card for the $300 refundable security deposit
- A four-day minimum — and any length up to seven days is the same $1,600
A $300 refundable security deposit is taken at pickup, plus tax. 150 miles are included per day (1,050 over seven days); $0.75 per mile beyond that.
Dates already booked? Here is the backup plan — our Kill Devil Hills location and the shuttles that run down from ORF.
Rather talk to someone?
