Who We Are
Beach 4x4 LLC was founded by Bret Doman, a Kill Devil Hills local with deep roots in Outer Banks beach culture and 4WD driving. After years of watching visitors struggle with traditional rental cars that couldn’t access Carova Beach or navigate soft sand, Bret built a rental service built around the actual needs of OBX beach drivers.
We operate a small, carefully maintained fleet of Jeep Wrangler 4WDs and full-size 4WD SUVs — every vehicle is personally prepped for beach driving, supplied with the seasonal Currituck County beach parking permit for the Corolla/Carova 4WD beach and a Cape Hatteras National Seashore ORV permit for designated open routes, and stocked with recovery gear before your pickup.

Unlike standard airport rental fleets, our vehicles are contractually approved and equipped for designated Outer Banks beach driving — no shuttle, no counter, no waiting. You land, collect your bags, walk to the parking garage, and a transfer vehicle is there — drive it to Kitty Hawk and swap into your Jeep.
